• Blade: The blade of the Katana Hideki is hand-forged and polished using traditional methods, employing high-purity carbon steel. The electroplating process gives the blade its striking black and red coloration, combining modern techniques with timeless craftsmanship.
• Galvanization: A chemical process that adds color to the blade’s surface layer. This is the only modern technique used, while all other forging methods remain traditional and artisanal.
• Tsuba: The tsuba, positioned above the scabbard collar, is ornamented and crafted in bronze with gold and silver plating. Beyond its decorative function, it protects the user’s hand from slipping onto the blade during use.
• Habaki (blade collar): 

  A metal component that ensures the connection between blade and scabbard, serving both aesthetic and functional purposes. Minor scratches are normal and do not affect quality.

• Hi (Groove): The grooves along the blade provide audible feedback during movement and help reduce weight without compromising strength and stability.
• Menuki: Decorative ornaments on each side of the handle, adding sophistication and aesthetic value to the sword.

The crafting time for your personalized sword is approximately 15 days. After production, your sword will be shipped directly from Hong Kong, where our forge is located, using the best available air courier at the time.
